Enrolment opens Tuesday September 1, 2026. Session 1 runs Monday 14 September to Friday 23 October 2026.

Opening offer. The first five enrolments in selected grade sessions of Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 are free, for students studying from within Canada, until Session 1 begins or the places are taken.

How to enrol

The whole process is online. There is nothing to print, nothing to post and nothing to hand in. You register for the session you want and pay, our admission assessment team reviews your application, and you receive your access instructions by email.

The six steps

1

Choose your course and your session

All 26 courses run online in every session. In class at the Vaughan campus a selection runs each session, and you will see which courses are available, and the seats remaining, as you register.

Register and pay

Open the registration link for your session, complete the form and pay the tuition. It takes a few minutes. If you are one of the first five enrolments in your grade, studying from within Canada, there is nothing to pay. If your application is later not approved, you are refunded in full.

Check your email, including your spam folder

Your confirmation arrives by email straight away. Every step after this one reaches you the same way, so add us to your safe senders and check your junk or spam folder if you do not see it.

Our admission assessment team reviews your application

We check that you meet the prerequisite for the course, against your Ontario Student Transcript or the evidence you supply. Where a prerequisite has not been met, the Principal decides whether it can be waived.

You receive your decision

If your application is approved you receive confirmation of your place, your session dates, and instructions for what happens next. If we cannot approve it, we tell you why and what would change the answer.

You get access to your learning

You receive your sign in details for the student learning portal and the course site, together with everything listed under "What you receive" below. Your course opens on the first Monday of the session.

What you need before you start

  • Evidence of your prerequisite. Your Ontario Student Transcript, or a report card or transcript showing the required course and mark.
  • Government issued photo identification. This is used to verify your identity for the final examination.
  • An email address that you check. Every step of this process reaches you by email.
  • A parent or guardian contact if you are under 18.
  • A computer. A tablet or a smartphone is not sufficient for assessments or for the final examination. In person students may use school computers at the campus.

Prerequisites, in plain terms

Most Grade 11 and 12 courses require you to have completed a specific earlier course. The prerequisite for each course is published on that course page, exactly as the Ministry states it.

If you do not have the prerequisite, apply anyway and tell us. The Principal may waive a prerequisite in defined circumstances, and will look at what you have already completed. You will get a decision either way, in writing, before you are asked for anything further.

What you receive once you are accepted

Before your session begins you will have all of this:

  • Your student course outline
  • The course syllabus
  • Your session timetable
  • The minimum system and software requirements
  • Access to the student learning portal
  • An explanation of the four weekly milestones
  • The School Course Calendar 2026-2027
  • The school's policies

Fees and payment

One fee covers the whole course. Tuition includes registration, your Ontario Student Record, your transcript and online examination proctoring.

You pay online when you register, before your application is assessed. If you are one of the first five enrolments in your grade, studying from within Canada, there is nothing to pay and no payment step to complete.

If your application is not approved, your fee is refunded in full. You are never out of pocket for a place the school could not give you.

Changing your mind, and transfers

There is a 48 hour cooling off period after you enrol. After that, transferring to a different course carries a $100.00 transfer fee. The full terms are in the fee schedule and the school's financial and refund policy.

Common questions

Is this a real school, and is the credit real?

Am-Can is an Ontario private secondary school operating under Notice of Intention 119689, with a Ministry inspection scheduled for the 2026-2027 school year. The credit is a full 1.0 Ontario credit and is recorded on your Ontario Student Transcript.

Do I have to come to Vaughan?

No. Every course runs online. Campus attendance is a facility we offer, not a requirement, and it is never marked.

How long does the assessment take?

We aim to give you a decision in good time before your session begins. Apply as early as you can, particularly for an in class place, because those are limited.

Can I take more than one course at once?

No. You take one course per session, which is why the six weeks work. With six sessions a year that is a maximum of six credits a year at this school.

What if I need the credit before a university deadline?

Look at the session dates and count backwards. A session takes six study weeks from its published start date to its published end date, so you know before you apply when you would finish.

I am an adult returning to finish my diploma. Can I enrol?

Yes. Tell us your situation in your application and the admission assessment team will look at what you have already completed.

I pay before I am assessed. What if I am not accepted?

Your fee is refunded in full. Paying at registration is simply how the form works. It does not commit you to a place the school has not yet confirmed.

What mark do I need to earn the credit?

Fifty per cent or higher.

What if the course I want is not running in class?

It will still be running online, in the same session, with the same teacher, the same materials and the same credit.
